Rhythm Reset
Empowering Adolescent Patients
_edited_edited.jpg)
My journey with Rhythm Reset began from a deeply personal place. As a teen who has lived with supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), I know firsthand the fear, stress, and uncertainty that can come with health challenges at this age. During those moments, I discovered how vital it is to have both practical resources and healthy outlets for managing anxiety and regaining a sense of control.
This experience inspired me to create Rhythm Reset, a name inspired by resetting the rhythm of my heart. By providing distraction kits and therapy information, I hope to give others the tools that I once needed myself: ways to calm the mind, redirect energy, and find comfort in moments of overwhelm. What started as my own struggle has grown into a mission: to help others reset their rhythm, rebuild resilience, and never feel alone on their journey toward healing.
Our Mission
Rhythm Reset provides accessible tools and resources to help individuals manage stress and find relief during difficult times. Through thoughtfully designed distraction kits and clear, compassionate therapy information, we empower people to take small but meaningful steps toward healing, balance, and resilience. Our mission is to reset the rhythm of daily life by offering comfort, clarity, and hope where it’s most needed.
Impact
Creative distraction kits and body-based therapies give young patients back a sense of control in environments where they often feel powerless. By engaging the mind through touch, play, creativity, or guided sensory focus, these tools interrupt anxiety spirals before they escalate — not by suppressing emotion, but by regulating the nervous system and re-anchoring the brain to safety. Just as importantly, they protect identity: instead of feeling like “a patient waiting,” a teen becomes an active creator, problem-solver, or explorer. This subtle psychological shift not only reduces stress in the moment, but improves engagement, compliance, and long-term emotional resilience in medical care.
Spotlight: Dr. Eric Silver, MD — Pediatric Cardiology & Adolescent Heart Health
Q: What do you notice most in young patients during medical visits — beyond just their physical symptoms?
A: Anxiety. Especially before testing or procedures, many adolescents appear tense, withdrawn, or overly quiet. Even when they don’t verbalize it, you can see it in their breathing and body language. Emotional stress is often overlooked but absolutely real.
Q: Can stress or fear actually affect a patient’s physical health during a visit?
A: Yes — quite significantly. Elevated anxiety can spike heart rate, blood pressure, and even interfere with test accuracy. But beyond numbers, it impacts trust. A calm patient communicates better — which leads to better care.
Q: Do you believe non-medical tools, like distraction kits or creative therapy resources, can help?
A: Absolutely. Engaging the mind — especially through movement, creativity, or tactile interaction — helps deactivate the stress response. It’s not just about “keeping busy.” It’s about giving back control.

Our Deliverables
Distraction Kits
Our distraction kit initiatives focus on providing engaging and comforting items to adolescent patients, offering them a sense of relief and joy during challenging medical procedures and hospital stays. Standard kit includes a NeeDoh nice cube, a fidget pad, and an infinity cube. These items provide a nice variety of fidgets and textures for positive stimulation.

Therapy Information
We provide valuable therapy information to adolescent patients and healthcare organizations, aiming to enhance their understanding of coping strategies and emotional well-being support. This doesn't only mean finding a therapist. Our information aims to battle against the stigma around therapy. This includes creative therapies (often an activity), physical therapies which often translate to mental benefits, and therapeutic trips/destinations. These cover a wide range of costs.
We highlight local therapy and wellness resources including:
Stretch Lab in Closter, which offers personalized assisted stretching to improve mobility and reduce stress. Link: https://www.stretchlab.com/location/closter
Blackbird Yoga in Closter, a calming studio focused on breath-based movement and mind-body balance.

Testimonials
Sample: Anonymous, Child
"Rhythm Reset completely changed how I felt during my doctor’s visit. I usually get anxious waiting in the exam room, but the distraction kit helped me stay calm and focused. The activities were actually engaging, and for the first time, I didn’t feel like time was dragging or that I was just being a patient — I felt like me. I wish more clinics had something like this.”
